Coos County records are divided by the agency that created them. Start with the office tied to the event or case:
- Court case files: use the criminal court case guide or call Coos County Circuit Court at 541-396-8372
- Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the Oregon State Police Criminal Justice Information Services Division
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Coos County Sheriff's Office records unit
- Official background checks: order through Oregon State Police
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Set-asides: file the proper petition with the court that handled the case
For sheriff-held material, contact the Coos County Sheriff's Office Records, CHL, and Fingerprinting counter, 250 N. Baxter Street, Coquille, OR 97423, at 541-396-7800. The counter is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closes from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
